We have individually heated kennels with, in most cases their own covered outside runs to accommodate all breeds, ages and sizes of dogs. The raised sleeping benches, tiled floors and thermal "vet bed" blankets all enable an extremely high standard of hygiene to be maintained throughout the kennel.
A new quiet block was added in 2009 with its own secure 'garden' for relief. Elderly and nervous dogs can be accommodated here. Beside the house, they are easily accessed regularly by day and during the night if necessary, without disturbing dogs in the main kennels. The easy-clean conditions means the WHK team can spend much more time with your dog on a one-to-one basis. You are invited to bring your own dogs bed and toys, although we cannot be responsible to any damage done to these while in kennels. Please do not bring wicker baskets or bean bags.
All dogs are exercised twice daily, on the lead around the fields or in one of our dedicated and well secured paddocks. Football games are played in a small secure field and are very popular with dogs and staff alike!
Additionally all the dogs are checked last thing at night.
By following a daily kennel routine we find that the dogs relax more as they adjust to their different surroundings. We have a mid day "quiet time" when the dogs can rest.
